Build a full stack app, get a stack of pancakes!
What is pancakes?
Pancakes is a YSWS where you build a full stack app by going through "stacks", and get rewarded with pancakes!
Stack 1
Here's where you'll begin pancakes! For your first stack of pancakes, you'll be building a frontend with HTML, CSS, and JS!
Stack 2
For your next stack of pancakes, you'll build a backend in Python with Flask and learn about databases!
Stack 3
Finally, it's time for you to add toppings to your pancakes by combining both ends and customizing your app!
What do I get?
That depends! The more you code, the more you get!
Tier 1
Required time: 5 hours What you get:
A sticker!
20$ for pancakes!
Notes: If you're submitting for a club, your stack 3 submission counts for this, but you can resubmit later on for higher tiers!
Tier 2
Required time: 7 hours What you get:
Everything from Tier 1!
Two extra stickers!
25$ for pancakes instead of 20$
Notes: N/A
Cool Projects!
Required time: N/A What you get:
A pancakes shirt!
We'll also throw in a poster :D
Notes: All you need to do is make a project that we think is cool. as long as it fits our requirements! Any tier is eligible!
FAQ
Depends on the tier! Everything you can get is above.
If you are participating as part of a club, we will ship out your rewards to the organizers of your club, at which point they will distribute it to you, with the sticker coming at Stack 1 and the grant at Stack 3! Otherwise, once you submit your final app, we will ship your rewards to you!
If you are participating as part of a workshop, submit after each stack! Otherwise, submit when you are done with all three stacks.
Firstly, you'll need to track your time on hackatime.hackclub.com. You can find out how to set up hackatime here! (psst, make sure you make an account first!). Afterwards, keep coding then resumbit and make a note that you are resubmitting your project!
